Sibling Pickleball: Meet Sandria Akima and Dennis Ganuelas
I first met Sandria Akima and Dennis Ganuelas at a pickleball clinic and had no idea they were siblings. It wasn’t until later that I learned they’re brother and sister, both drawn to the game through family and quickly finding their place in the local pickleball scene.
Based in Honolulu, the duo can often be found playing at Nuuanu YMCA and around the ʻĀina Haina area. While their pickleball journeys began at different times, they both share an appreciation for the community the sport creates and the time they get to spend on the court together.
Where do you currently reside and where do you play?
Dennis: I reside in Honolulu, and I play at the Nuuanu YMCA, Mahiko, and Aina Haina.
