Strategic Partnerships & Advertising Sales Manager (1099)

Commission Only Position

Based in Hawai‘i OR Remote

Hawaii Pickleball Magazine is the premier digital pickleball publication covering the entire State of Hawai‘i—we sit at the heart of Hawai‘i’s pickleball story, connecting players, businesses, and communities island-wide.

As we continue expanding our offerings, strengthening partnerships, and developing new opportunities, we’re looking for a driven, relationship-centered sales professional to help grow our advertising partnerships and shape the next chapter of our magazine’s evolution.

If you love building connections, creating opportunities, and closing meaningful deals, this role offers tremendous earning potential and room to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, outreach, presentations, proposals, negotiation, and closing

  • Build and nurture relationships with advertisers, sponsors, and corporate partners

  • Develop new revenue opportunities that support the magazine’s continued expansion

  • Represent the magazine at events, tournaments, and business-facing functions

  • Use CRM tools to track your pipeline, communication, and follow-up

  • Collaborate directly with the publisher on sales strategy, packages, and product development

  • Close small, mid-sized, and larger partnership opportunities

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in business development, enjoys meaningful conversations, and brings intention and professionalism to their craft.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in sales or business development (preferred)

  • Confident guiding partnership conversations and closing deals

  • Organized, self-motivated, and proactive in follow-up

  • Comfortable managing a pipeline and working independently

Compensation

We offer a highly competitive tiered commission structure designed to reward consistency, performance, and growth:

Tiered Monthly Commissions

  • 25% commission on all advertising and sponsorship sales

  • 30% commission on the entire month’s sales once you reach $5,000 in monthly closed revenue

  • 35% commission on the entire month’s sales once you reach $10,000 in monthly closed revenue

Once you cross a tier threshold, all revenue for that month is paid at the higher rate. This structure provides exceptional earning potential for someone who loves creating value and building relationships.

Additional Earning Opportunities

  • Quarterly performance bonuses

  • Bonuses for multi-month partnership commitments

  • Bonuses for larger or more complex partnership opportunities

  • Annual bonuses tied to long-term “pillar partners” or major contracts
